Abul Kasim
PublishedSummary
Abul Kasim, 26, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years for the murder of 63-year-old Martin Sullivan. The incident occurred on the night of 8 January 2025 at Mr. Sullivan's home on Highbury Road, Luton, which Kasim had been using as a base for his drug-dealing activities.
Following a refusal by Mr. Sullivan to allow him to stay at the property, Kasim launched a fatal knife attack. Emergency services attended the scene at 11:05 p.m., but the victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Investigators identified Kasim as the perpetrator after recovering a juice bottle from the living room sofa and finding his fingerprints on it, as well as on the property's rear door frame.
Kasim was found guilty by a jury at Luton Crown Court following a two-week trial in July 2025. He was sentenced on 14 October 2025.
