Simon Levy
PublishedSummary
Following a trial at the Old Bailey, Simon Levy was found guilty of the murders of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and Sheryl Wilkins, alongside two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and non-fatal suffocation against a third woman. The jury returned guilty verdicts on all charges following deliberations. Levy had pleaded not guilty to all counts during the proceedings.
The court heard that Levy targeted vulnerable women in the Tottenham area of Greater London. Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service representatives have acknowledged multiple failings in the monitoring and management of Levy, who was on bail at the time he committed the murders. Investigative bodies, including the IOPC, are currently reviewing the actions of police officers involved in his risk assessment and management.
In a separate trial at Inner London Crown Court concluded earlier in 2026, Levy was also convicted of 11 counts of indecent assault related to incidents on the London Underground and against a prison officer, for which he received an extended sentence comprising six years in prison and three years on licence.
