Summary

John Robinson, 61, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court where he was sentenced to 26 years in prison. Robinson was convicted of offences including the rape of a child, gross indecency with a child, taking indecent images, and sexual activity with a child. The offences were committed against three teenage girls in the Walsall area between 2000 and 2023.

Investigations by West Midlands Police revealed that Robinson provided the victims with alcohol and filmed his sexual offences. Officers recovered indecent images and videos documenting the crimes, some of which had been kept by the offender for over 20 years. Robinson was identified after one victim reported the abuse to the police, leading to the identification of two further victims through the recovered material.

During proceedings, Robinson denied all allegations, claiming the victims were acquaintances and alleging they had lied about the events. Following his conviction, he received a custodial sentence of 26 years.
