Gift Oladele
PublishedSummary
“I think you’ve had enough now. At least you have been raped by someone good-looking.”
Gift Oladele, 24. Nigerian national, Manchester, called himself ‘Big Mike’.
In 2022 he was convicted of false imprisonment after a sexually motivated attack on a woman in Manchester in daylight. Reporting said he pounced on her; she feared she would be raped; she got away. Sentenced to two years.
In September 2025, while he was on bail for a separate rape allegation and failed deportation (he said removal would breach Article 8 of the ECHR — right to respect for private and family life and won), he raped a 19yr old girl.
She was on a night out with her friend, he approached them outside a takeaway, the friend left in a taxi and he walked with her saying his cousin lived the same way she did.
On Mold Road he put his hand over her mouth and forced her off the path into woods.
He hit her. She later said six times to the head. Bruising. A handprint. He ripped her jeans off. He sexually assaulted her and raped her.
He told her to moan like she was enjoying it. That he liked to be dominant. That she should pretend it never happened. That he would put a black baby in her. That this would teach her not to trust strangers. That if she went to police he would find her, and he would put photos online.
She says when he finished he turned and said:
“I think you’ve had enough now. At least you have been raped by someone good-looking.”
She thought: do what he says and get home to her mum, or he kills her.
He was already a convicted sex attacker plus he was on bail for another rape allegation. A tribunal had already stopped him being deported. These poor girls have been failed in every way.
Jury convicted him. 17 years in prison. 8 years on licence.
