Graeme Dott
PublishedSummary
Graeme Dott, 49, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment at the High Court in Edinburgh on 29 September 2026. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life after being found guilty by a jury of two charges of lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour.
The offences were committed against two victims, a girl and a boy, over periods between 1993 and 1996 and 2006 and 2010 respectively. Dott denied the allegations and gave evidence in his own defence during a five-day trial, but the jury returned guilty verdicts on both charges in August 2026.
In his sentencing remarks, Lord Harrower stated that Dott had groomed the victims, who were described as vulnerable, by presenting the abuse as a game and providing them with treats. The judge noted that the offender had robbed the victims of a significant part of their childhood.
